F-150 Lightnings Strike: Truckin’ Fast Wednesday Presented by Nitto Tire
Pair of modified Ford F-150 SVT Lightning pickups lay down awesome times on the track.
This week’s “Truckin Fast Wednesday” video comes to us from the TalonTSi97 Videos YouTube channel and it features a pair of Ford F-150 SVT Lightning pickups in action at the 2017 Import Face-Off at Atco Dragway. We don’t know why these American pickups are participating at an Import event, but the odds are good that they beat a great many of the vehicles faced on the track.
This video focuses on a pair of modified Ford F-150 SVT Lightning pickups – one blue and one red. The details are slim, but we know that both of these trucks came from the factory with a supercharged 5.4-liter V8. Based on information provided in the comments, the red Lightning has a turbo setup on the factory 5.4 while the blue F-150 has a 2.6-liter Kenne Bell blower. However, we don’t know for sure if that information is correct.
What we do know is that both of these F-150 Lightning pickups are mighty quick.
The Racing Action
The video begins with the pair of monster F-150 pickups going head-to-head, with the blue Lightning taking the win with a 9.88 at 140 to the red truck’s 10.67 at 135.
Next, the red Lightning takes on and pummels a poorly-driven Mustang Shelby GT500, running a 10.21 while the muscle car is so much slower that we don’t get to see its time.
In the third race, the blue F-150 battles what looks to be some variety of Audi and with a 9.80 at 140 miles per hour, the American truck crushes the German sedan.
Finally, in the last run of the clip, we have a rematch between the red SVT Lightning and the poorly-driven GT500. This time, the Mustang leaves way too early and red lights en route to a run of 13.66 at 112 miles per hour. On the other hand, the F-150 runs a 10.45 at 137 miles per hour.
