TRUCKIN’ FAST 5.0 Ranger Blasts into the 12s
This week’s Truckin’ Fast video features a Ford Ranger in action on the quarter mile against a supercharged Pontiac Grand Prix. Now, in a race between most Ranger pickups and a supercharged Grand Prix, the result would be a beating for the compact Ford pickup – but this is not most Rangers.
This Ranger is powered by a 5.0L V8 which, when installed in a truck of this size, makes for one Truckin’ Fast compact pickup.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a whole lot of information on this quick Ford Ranger, but we know from the brief description that it has a 302 cubic inch V8 and I can tell from the sound that it is mated to an automatic transmission.
Since he called it a 302 and not a 5.0L, I would guess that it is an older Ford V8 engine rather than a late model Mustang engine. I would also guess that there is at least a little work done to make enough power to rocket this Ranger down the quarter mile in the high 12 second range.
Crank up your speakers and enjoy!
