TRUCKIN’ FAST 2011 F-250 PowerStroke Land Speed Record Truck
This week’s Truckin’ Fast video features one of the fastest Ford F-250 Super Duty pickups in the world in action at the Bonneville Salt Flats.
A team of experienced land speed record competitors worked with Ford Motor Company to build a 2011 F-250 Super Duty pickup packing the 6.7L PowerStroke diesel engine and the standard 6-speed automatic transmission that could take make a run at land speed records for a big production diesel pickup.
This video chronicles that attempt, showing the team preparing the truck for the run while highlighting some key features of the F-250 set to take a shot at the record.
There is no real modification list included, but the video assures us that this 2011 Ford F-250 is equipped with “extensive production parts”, which clearly doesn’t include the massive amounts of aftermarket charge piping tucked under the hood of this purpose built speed run truck.
We get to also watch this modded F-250 in action on the Bonneville Salt Flat competition surface and the results were very good – with the team claiming two production speed records for a diesel pickup.
