TRUCKIN’ FAST PowerStroke Super Duty Runs Down Mustang

super duty runs down mustang

This week’s Truckin’ Fast video features one wicked fast Ford Super Duty pickup packing a PowerStroke diesel engine pitting in a quarter mile battle against an S197 Mustang.

While the Mustang has a hood and front end that looks Shelby-esque, I believe this to be a dolled up Mustang GT – especially based on the quarter mile times. However, that shouldn’t take anything away from this nasty PowerStroke’d Super Duty.

There is no mod list on this early Ford Super Duty pickup, but it is very clearly powered by a PowerStroke diesel engine that has very clearly been heavily modified. Even before the race begins, the thick, black smoke pouring from the exhaust stack in the bed makes it clear that this isn’t your average SuperDuty pickup.

When the green light drops and the Mustang roars away from the line, the Super Duty sits patiently at the starting line. In fact, the Mustang looks to be past the 60 foot mark when we hear the Super Duty blast away from the starting line.

However, that massive torque of the big Super Duty pickup allows the truck to catch and pass the Mustang – running an impressive 11.8 to the Mustang’s 12.9.
