TRUCKED UP Ford F-150 Struggles with Black Ice

Update: The video description refers to this as a 2015 F-150, but it has been brought to our attention that this is actually a 2009-2014 style model. In any case, the message here is still the same.

Now that the temperatures are dropping around the Northern U.S., it is only a matter of time before the roads are covered with a bothersome layer of frozen rain. With that in mind, I have picked a video that serves a bit of a Public Service Announcement on the dangers of black ice.

In this video, we are riding in a random vehicle which happens to have a dash camera and in front of this truck is a 2009 Ford F-150. The two appear to be moving along just fine when they approach an accident scene. At first, the Ford begins to swerve away from the tractor trailer on the side of the road, but when the F-150 begins to slide on the black ice, the driver hits the brakes – which also do no good. We get to then watch as the Ford F-150 slowly slides sideways between two vehicles, coming to a stop against another big rig stuck further up the road.

Just a reminder, folks, it isn’t always best to speed around an accident in winter weather.
