TRUCK YOU! A 1970 Ford F-100 Flareside Restoration
One just has to love the classics. After all, there is just something about them that leads people to pursue restoration of the old school beasts rather than snatching up some new Ford rig as a play toy.
It’s it generally obvious why some of these rides are still so well loved. Just looking at the body styles, the options, and the history can tell any vehicle enthusiast the reason people still seek these antique machines.
FTE member Greg (A.K.A. “Gembone” is the proud owner of one classic Ford truck, and today we’ll step into his garage and take a closer look at his ride!
As we’ve said, Greg owns a classic. More specifically, Greg owns a 1970 F-100 Flareside. The rig is two wheel drive with a 300 cubic inch inline 6 engine and a Borg Warned T-18 four speed manual transmission.
Despite the fact that the truck looks fairly beat up, both inside and out, the rig is a driver and, as Greg says, it’s “lots of fun!” We’re sure that a play toy like this would be.
These aging F-100 trucks are getting harder and harder to find every year, so we applaud Greg for getting his hands on one to keep in existence for a long time yet!
Whether you’re a fan of modern rides of classic beauties, there is always respect to be had for the predecessors of any vehicle.
Go drop by Greg’s garage and leave some comments, browse the photography, and have a good time! Be sure to keep your garage up to date and maybe you’ll be featured next week on TRUCK YOU!
