TRUCK YOU! A 1966 Ford F-100 Camper Special
It is often difficult task to find a classic Ford truck that remains in good shape. These old rigs have often been left sitting for long periods of time, suffered from rust and other decay, and are frequently forgotten about until a Ford truck enthusiast comes to their rescue. These are the old rides with personality, character, and a whole lot of steel. What could be better?
Still, it is often a tedious task to find one of the antique machines that is in decent shape. Many need a lot of care to get back on the road, which is certainly worth giving. Still, sometimes one will get lucky and find something truly amazing, as is the case with FTE member sodly. Today we’ll be stepping inside his garage an taking a look at the outstanding rig that lies within!
Sodly is the proud owner of a 1966 Ford F-100 Camper Special. The ride has 47,000 original miles on the odometer, and is, in fact, all original aside from the dealer-installed air conditioning and the wheels. And yes, we mean that the paint job is original as well! Despite looking old and oxidized from it’s many years of sitting outside, the rig polished up quite nicely.
Before sodly owned the F-100, it spent its days traveling from coast to coast with an over-cab camper completing it perfectly. When it was retired it was, as we mentioned earlier, left to the elements in the great outdoors. However, the previous owner did choose to keep the camper itself in the attic.
After sitting for three decades, this beautiful classic Ford seems to have found its way into good hands once again! It was definitely an amazing find, and sodly seems to understand that quite well.
Go stop by his garage and leave some comments, browse the photography, and have a great time! Be sure to keep your garage up to date and maybe you’ll be featured next week on TRUCK YOU!
