TRUCK YOU! A Classic 1949 Ford F-1
As we enter into the new year, it might seem fitting to start off 2016 with a TRUCK YOU featuring a brand new model F-150 or something of the like. Nonetheless, to us that seemed a little dull, since we will, after all, see plenty of 2016 Ford trucks as the year goes on. So why not look at an ancestor of the newer F-series rigs? The classics are what made the vehicles we have today possible, so it seems fitting to show them some appreciation.
Today we’ll be stepping into the garage of FTE member FortyNiner, who is the proud owner of one of these amazing antique beauties, and taking a closer look at what lies within!
To be more specific, FortyNiner is the proud owner of a, you guessed it, 1949 Ford F-1. To take a step back for a moment, let’s reflect on the fact that this rig is now sixty-seven years old. Soon this gorgeous Ford truck will be seventy years old, and then even older. The very fact that this old school rig has survived for so long is astounding, and we certainly hope for it to survive for even more!
We’re definitely appreciative of FortyNiner for continuing to preserve this truck! It’s not easy to keep a classic ride going, as the parts become fewer and farther between and the base for information often fades.
