Ford Faces ‘Dirty’ Lawsuit Over Diesel Emissions

Lawsuit alleges the motor company misrepresented emissions tests for F-250 and F-350 trucks.

Earlier this week, a lawsuit was filed by owners of F-250 and F-350 trucks, claiming that Ford and auto supplier Bosch exaggerated diesel emissions tests. The suit maintains that the Blue Oval and Bosch used diesel software manipulation to lower data on diesel emissions.

According to Reuters, the truck owners say that the vehicles gave off twice the legal limit for diesel emissions. Raising some eyebrows, however, is the law firm in the middle of this, Hagens Berman. The firm is currently involved in multiple lawsuits against General Motors, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, and engine-maker Cummins, all with similar claims.

One particularly snarky addition included in the lawsuit is a suggestion that Ford might want to adopt the name ‘Super Dirty.’ Is it us, or does that sound kind of cool?

Bosch said that the accusations “remain the subject of investigations and civil litigation” and the company confirmed that it takes these allegations “very seriously.” Ford will be issuing a statement shortly. We’ll keep you posted.
