Ken Block’s Ford Mustang Insults the Brits During Top Gear Stunt
While this headline may only shock those who’ve been living under a rock, we must remember that this is post-Clarkson Top Gear stunt. So what now?
According to several British outlets, recently-announced Top Gear host, Matt LeBlanc, was riding riding shotgun inside Ken Block’s ridiculously powerful Ford Mustang (aka Hoonicorn), while the two filmed an episode for the mega-hit TV series in downtown London.
Driving a race car like a lunatic on the streets of London wasn’t the problem, but doing burnouts and donuts in front of The Cenotaph in Whitehall certainly was.
The Cenotaph in Whitehall is a World War I memorial dedicated to all who perished, and the equivalent to the Vietnam War Memorial, or the Arlington National Cemetery. So it’s understandable for the Brits to throw a fit…
The BBC along with main host, Chris Evans, have thoroughly apologized for their actions, and mentioned that it was a misunderstanding, and that doing “doughnuts” (as they said it) in front of the memorial wasn’t part of the plan.
Nonetheless, the BBC has already committed to omitting such scenes when the episode airs to the public.
This new-era Top Gear sure seems to be full of drama!
