This 1992 Ford truck commercial was made specifically for the Ohio market, but the content of the commercial is impressive on a national level. According to this commercial (and I’m inclined to believe these claims to be true based on some metric calculated by Ford), their trucks, sport utility vehicles and vans all lead their segments in sales when this spot was launched late in 1992.

This commercial highlights the Ford Ranger as the bestselling compact pickup, the F Series as the bestselling full size pickup, the Explorer as the bestselling sport utility vehicle and the Econoline as the bestselling van. The Explorer is still one of the bestselling SUVs and the F Series is the bestselling vehicle in America, but the Ranger is gone and the Econoline is gone, which shows how much the industry can change over time.
