These Fords are Fast, but They’re Not the Only Ones
“The top 10 greatest performance Fords of all time.” Divisive words, to say the least. If you ask 10 people, you’ll get 10 different lists.
The Telegraph, a UK-based site, came up with its own. The theme to it is obvious: hot hatches and small cars, from the 301-horsepower last-generation Focus RS to the rally-bred Escort RS1600 to the peppy Fiesta ST (those poor blokes have only been able to order their own Mustangs since January). Of course, the Ferrari-foiling GT40 makes an appearance, at number one.
Now that our friends across the pond have had their say, it’s your turn, American Ford fans. What would you put on your list? I know it’s hard to keep track of all of the blazing-fast Blue Ovals out there, so I’ll offer a few suggestions/reminders:
Ford F-150 SVT Lightning
The smallest, lightest F-150 bodystyle with a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 under the hood? That’s quick.
1968 Shelby Cobra GT 500KR
Perhaps the only words more meaningful than “King of the Road” are “Cobra Jet.”
First-Generation Ford F-150 Raptor
If you need to get across rocks, mud, or sand in a hurry, make sure you’re in one of these beasts.
