The Ford GT is Ready, We’re Ready, But are You Ready?

Ford GT - FIA World Endurance Championship

This upcoming weekend the Ford GT race car will make its racing debut at the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway in Florida. Earlier today, Ford debuted their preview video to get everyone hyped up for the race. We’ll even be there to bring you the coverage!

This year’s debut at the Rolex 24 marks the return of the Ford GT to American sports car racing. Back in 1966, the Ford GT won the inaugural running of the Rolex 24. Later that year, it went on to win at Sebring and Le Mans.

Getting a racecar ready is one thing, but getting it to run a 24 hour race is something entirely different.

At the Roar (Before the Rolex 24 test session), our goal was to do as much driving (as we could), and as little changing, and do all our changes back in the garage and just keep the car going around. We’ve been really successful.

Joey Hand is one of the drivers for the #66 Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT that will be at this weekend’s Rolex.

We’ll also be at the Rolex 24 as well! Be sure to follow me on Twitter using the link below to see photos and updates from the race, and be sure to check back here next week for a follow-up!

How do you think the new GT will do it’s first time out? Let us know over in the forums!
