The 2015-2016 Hennessey VelociRaptor SUV is a Reborn and Faster Excursion

Hennessey is great company for people who hate waiting. Want to get down the quarter mile faster? Don’t worry. The tuner is fond of forced induction. Hate the fact that you can’t get your hands on a new Ford Raptor yet? Hennessey will be happy to sell you a VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged.

The company’s 2015-2016 VelociRaptor SUV is for those who can’t wait any longer for Ford to build a true successor to the Excursion. It’s based on an F-250 Lariat 4×4, has four side doors and two rear doors, and can seat up to eight people (when equipped with the optional 60/40 folding middle row). Standard equipment includes a VelociRaptor front bumper, special exterior badges, and serial-numbered dash and engine bay plaques.

That latter piece is affixed to either the 411-horsepower 6.2-liter V8, which can be supercharged to 600 or 650 horsepower, or the 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel V8, which Hennessey gives a 20 lb.-ft. boost.

The engine’s output is not the other thing that can be upgraded. The wheels, tires, and rear bumper can be kicked up to VelociRaptor spec as options. Hennessey also offers an LED light bar that can be installed in the front bumper and a Warn front winch. Of course, the VelociRaptor SUV can be fitted with an optional off-road suspension, too.

This custom-fab’ed neo-Excursion comes at a steep price, though. The 2015-2016 Hennessey VelociRaptor SUV starts at $159,500. Here’s some more bad news – for the impatient: each rig requires six months to be built.
