2016 Ford Focus RS

If you haven’t noticed already, I’m pretty excited about the new Ford Focus RS. There’s a lot to be excited about! It’ll have 315+ horsepower mated to a 6-speed manual and have power sent to all four wheels by a state-of-the-art performance all-wheel drive system. Throw in some barely street-legal tires and you have a recipe for awesomeness!

While looking at it in pictures is great, checking it out on video is even better. Along with the news that the car will be in dealerships next fall, Ford also debuted a video showing the ins and outs of the new car.

Unfortunately, there’s no sound, because they intend on it to be B-roll footage for news outlets, but it does show you the details of the new car up close, including how to change the performance characteristics of the car.

It also shows you how to access Drift Mode through the menus. Hopefully, there’s a button on the center console that does it without all the menu fidgeting. But at  least it’s visual proof that it’s there for your hooning pleasure.

When it comes to the super-high performance hatchbacks, the Golf R and the WRX STI have been kings for a long time. The Europeans got the Focus RS, but even then it was still a front-wheel drive monster. Now, the new Focus RS will be sold in the U.S. and have all-wheel drive and more power than the competition. It’s a good time to be a Ford fan!
