Some people spend their free time at the track, some spend it browsing the internet for the new and the interesting, and still others spend their time slouched over a bag of popcorn on the couch. However, it’s a small number of people—even simply a small number of Ford fans—who go out and spend their free time restoring classics. That’s exactly what Ford-Truck member 51fordf5 has done in his free hours. The beast pictured above is a 1979 Ford F-150 6.9L Diesel – four wheel drive, lifted, and primed for paint. A stunning restoration in progress.
Amazingly, he actually acquired the project from a fellow member of this site in a straight up trade, in which he gained this beauty and gave up his 1978 F-250 SuperCab. Worth it? One might definitely say so. Running and driving like a dream, very little is left to do in order to finish this truck – primarily some bodywork and a paint job. This Ford is definitely loud, proud, and well-built – ready for action.
