UPDATE: This classic Ford sold for $45,100!

We all love looking at classic Ford pickup trucks. It’s part of the reason why y’all hang around here. But if you’re looking for a chance to also own a fully-restored, special piece of automotive history, you’ll have a chance to bid on one this weekend.

On May 2nd, 2015 this classic 1935 Ford Pickup will be hitting the auction block at the Spring Classic Car Auction in Toronto.

On the outside, the truck looks stock. But according to the event catalog, “Many desirable improvements were done to this truck when it was restored, such as 4-wheel hydraulic drum brakes, 12-volt electrics with alternator charging, tinted glass, electric turn signals and an all-steel bed with oak subfloor.”

In addition, “The best modification is the drivetrain, a rebuilt Mercury 255 cubic inch flathead V8 topped with Offenhauser polished aluminum heads and intake, Edelbrock carburetor and Fenton headers with dual exhaust. The chassis including the 3-speed manual transmission, differential and rigid convertible frame were sourced from a 1940 Ford.”

Finally, “Finished in dark grey with black fenders, it features flawless black upholstery complimented with Stewart Warner gauges, original banjo steering wheel, 15-inch wire spoke wheels with correct V8 hub caps, trim rings and wide whitewall radial tires.”

If you’re interested in learning more about the truck, or seeing what other vehicles are up for auction, check out the auctioneer’s website. Or if you’re in Toronto, head out this weekend to check it out!
