South Carolina Ford vs. Chevy Dealerships in a Billboard Battle!
Redditor says owner of Charleston Metro area dealerships is just having some fun with a clever way to drum up more business.
We know Ford trucks are the best trucks around, while Chevy owners only think they have the best. Of course, if you’re a dealer who happens to sell both brands, what would you do to drum up more business?
Play up the long-standing Ford vs. Chevy war meme, of course. The field of battle, caught by Redditor Ghee_Guys, are a pair of billboards from Ravenel Ford and Marchant Chevrolet, both based in the Charleston, South Carolina suburb of Ravenel.
As for how we know the billboards were put up by the same owner, Redditor nyp27 has the details:
FYI, both dealerships are owned by Rob Marchant. Source: Resident of Charleston, SC
And if that’s not enough proof, Marchant’s LinkedIn says he’s the “Dealer-Operator and Exec Manager of midsize Chevrolet and Ford dealerships outside of Charleston, SC,” specifically Ravenel Ford and Marchant Chevrolet.
While it would’ve been cooler if both dealerships weren’t owned by the same man, we do respect Marchant’s business game. That said, we hope he moves more Rangers, F-150s, and Super Dutys than whatever the Bow Tie dropped on his other lot.
