Report: Ford to Start Production of Next-Generation Mustang in 2020

By -

It looks as if the days of the current Mustang are numbered.

According to a June 2015 North American automotive production forecast from LMC Automotive for the UHY LLP accounting firm, Ford will stop producing the S550 version of the Mustang in April 2020. That car’s successor, which bears the program code S650, is scheduled to begin rolling across assembly lines the next month.

The report also contains production dates for several Ford crossovers and SUVs.

For instance, the current Explorer (U502) will go out of production in December 2018. Ford will start cranking out its successor, U625, in January 2019, facelift it in early 2022, and shut down the production lines for it in December 2025.

The reborn Lincoln Continental should be around until May of 2023…and joined by another large sedan (CD714) starting in July 2020.
