Recall Me Maybe: 2016 F-150 Seats Might Not Be Welded Correctly

Some people at the Dearborn Assembly Plant and the Kansas City Assembly Plant are going to be in trouuuubbllllllleeee. Ford just issued a recall on about 4,000 2016 F-150 pickups that were built between Feb. 20-25 of this year in Michigan and Feb. 17-24 in Missouri.

Though there haven’t been any resulting accidents or problems that Ford knows of, the F-150s are being recalled because the driver’s seatback might not have been welded properly. That means a weaker connection, which means there’s a rare possibility that in the event of an accident, the seat might come loose during a crash and increase the likelihood of injury to the driver.

If your car is within these specific build times, Ford will inspect your truck and fix it for free, if there is a problem. Call 866-436-7332 to check if yours needs a look.
