NEWS: Safety Recalls for Ford Edge & Lincoln Continental
Ford Motor Company issued two safety compliance recalls for North American vehicles. The recalls were narrowed down to two different models: the 2017 Lincoln Continental, and the 2015-2016 Ford Edge.
When it comes to safety compliance recalls, this is perhaps the most insignificant and smallest-impacting of recent times, affecting under 1,960 units globally. Needless to say, if you own one one of these impacted vehicles it’s important that you visit your local dealership.
Ford Edge: (ABS) Modules
Although not aware of any accidents or injuries caused by this malfunction, Ford is recalling 2015-16 Ford Edge vehicles built at Oakville Assembly Plant, Feb. 9, 2015 to Aug. 12, 2016, which may have had software programmed during service between Aug. 6, 2016 and Sept. 28, 2016.
According to Ford only 59 vehicles have been affected, including 53 in the United States, three in Canada and two in Mexico.
Fix: Dealers will replace the ABS control module or reprogram the ABS module with updated software at no cost to the customer.
2017 Lincoln Continental: Headlamp Assemblies
Although not aware of any accidents or injuries caused by this malfunction, Ford is issuing a safety compliance recall for approximately 1,900 2017 Lincoln Continental vehicles to inspect and, if necessary, replace headlamp assemblies. In affected vehicles, HID headlamps may have been misbuilt with LED lenses that are missing the lens optics necessary to meet turn signal visibility requirements.
Affected vehicles include certain 2017 Lincoln Continental vehicles built at Flat Rock Assembly Plant, June 14, 2016 to Sept. 23, 2016. There are approximately 1,876 vehicles affected including 1,826 in the United States, 49 in Canada.
Fix: Dealers will replace headlamp assemblies if necessary at no cost to the customer.
