Raptor Takeover Offers Owners Loads of High-flying Fun

Raptor Takeover

If you own a Ford Raptor and want to fully explore its lofty limits, here’s your chance to do it the right way.

The Ford Raptor is, as we all well know, an incredibly capable vehicle. One built to blast across dirty/sandy/rocky roads at high speed. Or even leap to incredible heights, landing without smashing itself to pieces. But unless you’re lucky enough to live near the desert, you may not know where to go to truly explore the capabilities of your truck. And that’s exactly why a guy named Collins Harper created the “Raptor Takeover.”

Harper owns a first-gen Raptor himself, and immediately fell in love with off-roading it. But that love reached new heights when he was able to take the truck out to Durhamtown Off Road Resort in Union Point, Georgia. Harper posted some highlights from that outing on social media, which prompted a large group of people to express interest in joining him down there. A few months later, he made it happen, and 14 trucks showed up for what turned out to be an incredibly fun time.

The rest, as they say, is history. Harper came up with the official name Raptor Takeover, and turned it into a real company. The first official event took place in October of 2018, and this time 30+ trucks showed up. For 2019, the group has 8 total events in five states on the docket – Utah, Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.

So if you’re a fellow Raptor owner looking to use your truck the way Ford intended, this looks like the perfect way to do it. And while you’re at it, you’ll probably make at least a couple of new friends along the way. You can find a full list of upcoming Raptor Takeover events by heading over here!
