RAPTOR REPORT More Signs of Liquid Blue’s Demise
Ford has a halo color for their Ford Performance vehicles, and that color is Liquid Blue. It was seen on every Ford Performance vehicle at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, including the “mundane” Focus and Fiesta ST.
It also was on the Raptor, GT350 R, and Ford GT. It’s a great color, and one that we want to see in production. But we don’t think it’s going to happen.
Today, we have even more proof that it’s not going to be available on a car you can buy.
Ford’s Focus RS is their hottest hatchback to date, with 320+ horsepower and all-wheel drive, was announced today in Germany.
Being a Ford Performance product, the paint that appeared on the official version is Liquid Blue. But after digging deep into the press release, Ford tells us something that they haven’t told us before; available colors.
Four striking exterior colors include Nitrous Blue, a vibrant four-coat metallic finish exclusive to RS, as well as Stealth Gray, Absolute Black and Frozen White. The car revealed in Cologne features the same special Liquid Blue color scheme first seen on the all-new Ford GT revealed last month at the North American International Auto Show.
Cue the sad trombone sound. If the Focus RS isn’t available in Liquid Blue, it means Ford isn’t investing the resources in making the difficult color a reality.
If you were really looking forward to that blue being on the Raptor, and I was, you’re probably going to be disappointed.
