RAPTOR REPORT Likelihood of a Regular Cab 2017 Raptor is Slim

This week’s question of the week asks if you’d like to see a single, or regular cab 2017 F-150 Raptor. Based on your comments and votes on the linked forum post, it seems like many of you would like to see it offered as an option.

I also would like to see it offered, since I can’t imagine it’d be too difficult to offer it as an option. Unfortunately, I don’t think that’ll end up being the case, based on some information from Detroit.

During an up-close-and-personal inspection of the pre-production 2017 Raptor, a representative of Ford was asked if the truck would still be offered in the Super Crew configuration.

He responded that yes, it will be, just like the current truck. But they built the first one as a Super Cab because they feel that that is going to be the more “sporty” of the two trucks.

If the Super Cab is the sportier version of the two trucks, then that means to me that a regular cab won’t see production. I imagine most of the general buying public prefers the larger cab, and in the case of the previous Raptor, the Super Crew had a 36 gallon fuel tank over the Super Cab’s 26 gallon tank.

Luckily, the new truck is still over a year away, so maybe if we all ask really nicely, they’ll build one? The best place to start asking is right over here in the forums!
