The 2017 Ford SVT Raptor F-150 made its grand debut earlier this week at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena.

We knew that the new Raptor was coming, so the arrival of the big, blue sport truck didn’t come as much of a surprise.

What did come as a surprise to some was the fact that Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (SVT) chose to go with an EcoBoost V6 engine to motivate the newest Raptor.

The SVT Raptor had previously been powered by a 5.4L V8 and then, more recently, a 6.2L V8 that delivered 411 horsepower and 434 lb-ft of torque.

Ford hasn’t announced the specs for the 2017 Raptor, but the automaker has promised that new high performance, SVT-tuned 3.5L EcoBoost V6 will deliver more power than the outgoing V8.

This means that the new Raptor will be more powerful and likely more efficient than the previous generation SVT F-150.

With all of that in mind, we come to our Question of the Week. Do you like the use of a specially tuned EcoBoost V6 in the new Raptor?
