Ford Motor Company announced that production of the 2016 Ford F-150 with the compressed natural gas-ready 5.0L V8 has officially begun. This package adds a variety of heavier duty engine components for just $315, but adding the fuel lines, the fuel tanks and the injectors to run compressed natural gas or propane can run anywhere between $7,500 and $9,500, depending on the size of the tanks chosen.

With that in mind, we come to our Question of the Week.

Would you buy and build a 2016 Ford F-150 with the natural gas conversion? Compressed natural gas is slightly less expensive than gasoline right now, it burns much cleaner than gasoline so there are almost no harmful tailpipe emissions and it allows less dependence on foreign oil without hampering performance of the 5.0L V8.
