$2.2-2.6 million dollars, that’s how much RM Auctions believe this original chassis # CSX 2011 289 Cobra will sell for on May 2nd.

That’s an incredible amount of money, however, what you are getting is an incredible car. A 1962 Shelby Competition Cobra with a 289 V8 and enough patina and history to drop your mouth to the floor.

The current owner, who’s had the car for over 40 years, just went through a major restoration of the Cobra and put it back to the original configuration to when it raced at the 24 hours of Daytona in 1964.

Under the hood, as stated before, is a 289 V8 that churns out 340 horsepower with twin Carter four barrel carbs and a Borg-Warener T-10 transmission.

Not only will you be getting a fantastic car, for realistically a ton of money, but the seller is also ready to sell with the car a set of period photos signed by Carroll Shelby himself. So, in all honesty, you get two pieces of history for the price of one.
