Ohio Assembly Plant Picking Up Extra Super Duty Chassis Cab Production
The Ohio Assembly Plant currently produces the ginormous F-650 and F-750 medium-duty Ford trucks. Now, to help out with the demand for the 2017 Super Duty, the plant is picking up production of Super Duty chassis cabs.
The plant that currently employs around 1,400 people will be producing chassis cabs for the F-350, F-450, and F-550 models. This is to supplement that work of the Kentucky Truck Plant. It also means Ford is expecting very strong demand for the new truck when it goes on sale.
Chassis cab trucks are used by businesses across the country because they offer the versatility to specialize the trucks to fit their exact needs. The new steel frame on Super Duty is stronger than it’s ever been before, even when used in chassis cab configuration.
As an Ohioan, I’m glad to see more work being brought to the area. I’m also excited to hopefully get behind the wheel of the new Super Duty later this year.
