The New Ford GT Will Be Very Busy Racing Around the Globe
The Ford GT isn’t a road car. It wasn’t built to be a road car. It was built to be a racecar that would head back to the famed 24 hours of Le Mans and take the fight to Ferrari and Corvette once again. With the new Ford GT being a proper racecar, over the course of the last few months, we’ve been seeing the new Ganassi Racing cars testing all over the country. Yet, we didn’t know when they would show up for their first actual race. Until now.
According to Ford, the new Ford GT racer is set to compete in both the IMSA Sportscar Championship, and the FIA WEC seasons next year. The first racing appearance for the new Ford GT will be here in the states at the 24 hours of Daytona, followed by its European debut at the 6 hours of Silverstone.
The Ganassi team will field four cars throughout the two racing series and will hopefully celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Ford GT sweeping Le Mans later next year with its own win. Are you all excite to see the Ford GT back in racing?
