Wicked Ford Ranger Goes Racing: Muddy Monday

By -

Watch a Ford Ranger mud truck go drag racing in the slop.

In most cases, our “Muddy Monday” videos feature some variety of heavily modified Ford truck or SUV playing in a mud bog and their only goal is to not get stuck. But his week’s video brings us a look at some mud drag racing action with a wicked Ford Ranger going head-to-head with what appears to be a relatively tame Super Duty, courtesy of the DMS Automotive YouTube channel.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any details on this Ford Ranger, but this is a case where a picture is worth a thousand words. This compact Ford pickup has a custom suspension and chassis build, extending the large front tires out in front of the truck while even bigger mud tires are tucked inside of the factory flared bedsides. Under the hood is a 600ci big block Ford V8 and while we don’t know anything else about the engine, there is no question that this is one powerful pickup.

Ford Ranger Mud Racer

Ranger Versus Super Duty

In this particular race, the big block Ranger mud racer is taking on an older Super Duty. Before the race begins, it appears to be a bit of a mismatch, as the Ranger is clearly far more modified than is the F-250 in the far lane. When the race begins, there is no question that this is more than just a bit of a mismatch.

On the green light, both Ford trucks blast away from the starting line, but the Ranger immediately jumps out to a big lead and it just keeps on pulling away, slinging mud high into the air as it absolutely destroys the diesel truck in the far lane. In fact, we don’t see the F-250 after the first couple of seconds of the run as the race-ready Ranger cruises to an easy win.
