DIRTY VIDEO 2006 Ranger and 2013 F-150 Go Head to Head in the Muck

This week’s dirty video features a Ford Ranger and a Ford F-150 taking turns charging through a mud puddle out in the wilderness. Surprisingly, the Ranger is a rear wheel drive model with the 2.3L 4-cylinder engine and some beefy off road friendly tires while the F-150 Fx4 is packing the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 and – obviously – four wheel drive.

Based on the description, you might expect the newer, more powerful Ford F-150 to show up the rear wheel drive Ranger, but the little 4-cylinder pickup does a fine job of storming through the mud. This video shows that a two wheel drive truck can offer the same mudding fun as a bigger four wheel drive pickup, but it is best to have a 4WD truck handy just in case you do get in a little too deep for your rear-drive pickup.
