Muddy Monday: F-150 Digs With Determination
Black F-150 shows us why perseverance always pays off!
This week’s “Muddy Monday” video takes us back to the Mid Michigan Mud Run, where a lightly modified Ford F-150 shows us that making it through the mud pit is a matter of patience and strategy.
We don’t have many details on this Ford F-150, but we can tell that this truck is a 10th generation model, which means it was sold from 1997 until 2004. This bad boy appears to sit a little higher than a stock half-ton Ford truck from that era, clearing up plenty of space for the beefy mud tires on wide aftermarket wheels. In addition, we can tell from the roar of the engine that this F-150 is powered by a V8 with a louder-than-stock exhaust system. That being said, we don’t know whether it’s the 4.6L or 5.4L V8.
In any case, this F-150 charges into the deep, watery mud pit with a head of steam, but when the truck hits the first deep portion of the hole it immediately loses forward momentum. The driver makes his way down the gears, and with the help of the loud V8 engine he keeps all four tires spinning forward.
The run isn’t quick, but even when the old F-150 wants to stall, the determined driver charges forward into the mud.
