MotorWeek Drives the All-New 2018 Ford Expedition
The iconic publication gets an early drive of Ford’s new Expedition full-size SUV, and admits the family hauler is a charmer.
Crossovers and SUVs are where it’s at in 2018, and most likely in decades to come — at least until all vehicles are smaller, lighter, and no longer rely on fossil fuels. After all, there’s a reason why Ford’s new CEO routed seven billion dollars from car development directly into truck and SUV budgets.
MotorWeek is one of the longest-standing automotive publications in the United States, and they recently had the chance to get behind the wheel of the all-new Expedition. The three-row, full-size, aluminum-bodied SUV makes a comeback for 2018 after many years of being overlooked and flat-out ignored.
The two-minute video shares a few highlights of the Expedition ahead of an in-depth review, since this introductory media drive took place in Los Angeles just a couple of weeks ago. The comfort of the seats, the interior design, and all of the crucial USB charging ports a family could desire are all there!
The host also makes mention of the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine, which the reviewer thinks is well suited for the Expedition due to its torque curve and towing capacity, of course. The Expedition boasts the highest towing capacity of any of its competitors with a total of 9,300 pounds.
The Expedition Max has a longer wheelbase which translates into slightly more spacious rear accommodations, and certainly more cargo space in the trunk/third-row area. The Expedition is headed to dealer showrooms as we speak, and its price will range from $50,000 to $80,000 depending on trim and equipment.
