You Might Just Learn Something Watching the 2013 Ford F-150 Raptor Tear It Up Off-Road
Consider the video featuring the 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor you’re about to watch a cross between an action movie and a documentary.
Yes, you get to see it slangin’ up (that’s a technical term here in Texas) icy mud, getting some air, and splashing through wintry muck, but you may also come away knowing some more about the surprisingly hot-selling specialty truck. (I say “may” because I know how much you all love the Raptor. For those of you who are new to this forum/have lived under a rock for the past five years, get ready to learn something.)
For instance, its upgraded suspension has cast aluminum lower control arms designed to handle the sick jumps Raptor owners are bound to make the trucks perform. Even though the FOX racing shocks have plenty of travel to withstand obstacles found in nature, such as chunks of stone or small abandoned Buicks, they don’t diminish ride quality. Unfortunately, the 35-inch on-/off-road BFGoodrich tires occasionally need the kind of help in the mud that only a tow strap can provide. On the bright side, a Torsen diff and a package of hardcore skid plates help the Raptor conquer and survive the rough stuff. See it do just that in the following clip.
