Kanye West to President Trump: ‘Ford Needs the Dopest Designs!’
Hip-hop superstar goes on on near-eight-minute rant in Oval Office about Adidas, ‘male energy,’ Ford, and more.
Rapper Kanye West has been rolling deep with his love for President Donald J. Trump for quite a few months now. Both figureheads love to be the center of attention, both have “haters” coming at them from all sides, and both apparently have “dragon energy.”
Thus, after West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, paid a visit to the Oval Office last May 8 to famously commute the life sentence of Alice Marie Johnson, it was only a matter of time before “Yeezus” landed in the Oval Office to have lunch with President Trump, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, and NFL legend Jim Brown. What happened next can only be described as surreal, a scene C-SPAN was there to capture in all of its strangeness.
For approximately eight minutes, West went on a stream-of-consciousness lecture about mental illness, his relationship with Adidas, the lack of “male energy” in his life, and how the 13th Amendment is a “trap door” to slavery. In all of that mess (around 7:43 in the video above), Ford gets mentioned as part of a rant about bringing manufacturing back to the U.S.
“One of the things we gotta set is Ford to have the hypest designs, the dopest cars, the most amazing,” West said to Trump and the press gathered in the Oval Office. “I don’t really say ‘dope’; I don’t say negative words, and try to flip ’em. We only just say positive, lovely, divine, universal words. So, the flyest, freshest, most amazing car.”
Maybe we’ll see Ye roll in “the flyest, freshest, most amazing” Ford product in his next video?
