It’s Official. 4 Ford GTs to Race at the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans!
Good news! The most historic, iconic, badass, and grueling race in the world just got even better! Why? Because 50 years after its initial sweeping of the field, the boys (and girls) in blue return to France, and that’s a pretty darn big deal.
The official race organizer, Automobile Club de l’Ouest, revealed the official race entry list of the 2016 edition of the French endurance race, and it confirmed that car numbers 66, 67, 68, and 69 belonging to Ford Chip Ganassi Racing were in fact, accepted for racing duty.
Chip Ganassi, owner of Ford Chip Ganassi Racing, commented that his people are no strangers to the daunting task ahead of them, specially given the challenges they faced at the 24 Hours of Daytona just a week ago. That being said, if there’s one thing Ganassi knows how to do, is win, and they have the trophies to prove it.
The month of June may be far into our calendars, but preparing every hour of every day will be crucial if the Ford GT crew wants to go from—Le Boys to Le Mans—in their first year back since the memorable 1966 race when Ford humiliated a pompous Enzo Ferrari.
Au revoir, boys!
