Go West Young Van: Traveling Over 20,000 Miles in a Ford Econoline
Nick was sure to document each location with photos and videos. They started in British Columbia, Canada, and headed down west in the United States, which was good timing as their trip began in September. They hit the southwest, and traveled northeast through the midwest. They hit Toronto, Canada and started heading west. They got as far north as the Yukon Territory, in Canada, as well as neighboring Alaska.
Along the way they lived in the van, quite comfortably. They also did a fair share of hiking and camping in a tent, and the occasional splurge to stay in an RV park. Nick and Jannus researched extensively beforehand, used apps such as iOverlander, and found van-friendly areas to stay. In fact they only paid for camping about 10 times over the course of the entire trip.
And what an experience, from the Grand Canyon to the beaches of California; from the desert, to the overgrown greenery of the Pacific Northwest; from glaciers to the desert, they saw and lived it all. In this case, a picture is truly worth a thousand words. These images say everything we dream of in a perfect road trip. And all it took was an adventurous spirit, and a Ford Econoline van to see and experience the world in a completely original and unforgettable way.
