Galpin Ford Car Show Goes Bigger in 2018
One part car show, one part block party, Galpin Ford draws thousands to its annual celebration of all things Ford (and more).
Located in the Los Angeles suburb of North Hills, Galpin Ford is known as the world’s number one Ford dealership, having held the title for nearly three decades. The dealership built the foundation for its current reputation since its founding in 1946, from being the first Shelby dealership in California and introducing the European sunroof to the United States, to fielding a NASCAR team led by driver Ron Hornaday and establishing the first department store for cars, known today as Galpin Square.
It is at Galpin Square where Galpin Ford hosts its annual Galpin Ford Car Show. The Ford Performance blog was there for the 2018 edition of the show in early October, now one big party covering several blocks of Roscoe Boulevard occupied by Galpin’s dealerships.
According to the blog, around 10,000 turned up for the block party, which included tons of Fords and Shelbys, such as those sponsored by the famed dealership over the decades, a pair of white 1968 Cobra Jet Mustangs, flathead-powered Ford and Lincoln hot rods, and so much more. Galpin also moved its new inventory of F-150s out of the lot, lining them up and down Roscoe Boulevard.
While the hot rods and Mustangs occupied Galpin Auto Sports’ lot out front, children enjoyed plenty of games and rides at Galpin’s Volkswagen dealership, lowriders competed for the highest bounce, and vendors had a chance to interact with the public and make a few sales.
We can’t wait to see what Galpin’s annual car show will look like in 2019. With the Ranger out and about and a new Bronco on the horizon, the show will definitely draw in more crowds to the world’s top volume dealership.
