Yep, it’s that time again, folks. Another recall announcement. This one covers nearly 8,000 Ford and Lincoln vehicles: 7,165 in the U.S., 799 in Canada, and one in Mexico. The parking brake in them may not fully engage. Fortunately, the Blue Oval isn’t aware of anyone being injured or involved in an accident because of this issue, which affects the following models:

-Certain 2015-2016 Ford Explorer vehicles built at Chicago Assembly Plant, May 4, 2015 through May 23, 2015

-Certain 2015 Ford Taurus vehicles built at Chicago Assembly Plant, May 4, 2015 through May 23, 2015

-Certain 2015 Ford Flex vehicles built at Oakville Assembly Plant, May 4, 2015 through May 23, 2015

-Certain 2015 Lincoln MKS vehicles built at Chicago Assembly Plant, May 4, 2015 through May 23, 2015

-Certain Lincoln MKT vehicles built at Oakville Assembly Plant, May 4, 2015 through May 21, 2015

If you’re one of the winners of this unlucky lottery, take your vehicle to your dealer. If it needs to, it’ll replace the parking brake control assembly for free.
