Ford vs. Chevy Debate Ends in Bloodshed…Seriously
An argument over which is the better car maker ended in the pokey and the hospital. Well, that escalated quickly.
There are some topics so incendiary that you just shouldn’t get into it with some people. Politics. Religion. Ford vs. Chevy. Such was the case in Bedford County, VA recently. An argument over which truck was the best led to fight that ended with three people shot. None of the injuries were life-threatening, thankfully. But the jail time suspect Mark Edwin Turner faces, on the other hand is no joke.
However, we might have to make a few.
The whole ruckus started when Turner was having dinner with his girlfriend (identified as Ms. Bailey), her adult son Logan Bailey, and Logan’s girlfriend, who is unidentified. The four were chatting about trucks, when Turner and Logan started fighting about who is best: Ford or Chevy. It got really heated. Then it just got really flat-out crazy. And then Turner pulled out a knife. As one does.
“The evidence would be that Mr. Turner got so upset that he brandished a knife, that Ms. Bailey got between Mr. Turner, and Ms. Bailey and was actually struck with the knife causing about a six-inch injury.” Bedford County Commonwealth’s Attorney Wes Nance told WSET ABC 13 news.
After that Turner grabbed his gun, coming after Logan. Ms. Bailey stepped in to intervene and was shot five times in the leg. Damn, someone please give this lady a break!
When all was said and done, Logan was shot in the arm, his girlfriend shot twice by ricocheting bullets, and his mom stabbed and shot! Police arrived, and like a scene out of Cops, there was a lot of yelling and chaos. Turner ended up in a two-hour standoff with law enforcement before police took him down with a bean bag round and threw his ass in jail.
The injured parties have all been treated and released. Turner remains in jail facing serious charges as he awaits his upcoming hearing.
In a twist that no one saw coming, it looks like alcohol and drugs likely played a part in the incident.
Call us old fashioned, but we think all future Ford vs. Chevy battles should be fought on the track. Or failing that, a game of “Rock, Paper, Scissors.” Or better yet, don’t fight, let your truck do all the talking.
