Ford Gets Really High with Drones to Film Super Duty
For the few automotive journalists who will read this post and was on the launch of the Super Duty in Denver, you might have noticed there was a lot of drone activity. This was especially true on the off-road course. As it turns out, DJI was there professionally filming the events in a partnership with Ford. For the rest of you, that means cool drone footage of trucks doing truck things!
This partnership is part of the DJI Developer Challenge that is working to integrate DJI drone control and access into Ford Sync 3 infotainment system inside the truck. We talked about this briefly the last time we talked about Fords and drones.
Even though regulations are making it more difficult for amateurs to fly drones, professionals are using drones in a variety of innovative ways. Some of these ways involve human search and rescue, where peoples’ lives are on the line. Making it easier for a first responder to control a drone seems like a good idea.
In the meantime, check out Ford’s running footage from the launch program in Denver below, and then head over to our forums and let us know what you think!
