Make plans to head to the Ford stand at the NAIAS first. Ford has teamed up with Revell Toys gifting kids a complimentary, limited-release Ford GT snap kit. Happening in early January 2016, it’ll be a three-year tradition now at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit that Ford will offer a model toy snap kit.

In past years Revell and Ford’s ‘Make ‘n Take’ program brought the new Mustang and Raptor F-150 snap kits which were popular grabs at the show. It’s only natural they collaborate again to bring the Ford GT supercar. Rarely does Ford build such a high-performance vehicle. I’m glad Ford is bringing more light and attention to the vehicle reaching for kid’s admiration as well as the parents who get to enjoy the life-size production one while their kid build one or wait in line.

Ford says it’s kids only but I bet true GT fans will sneak one for this is a special auto show limited-release model. If for some reason you can’t attain one at the show it’ll reach store shelves and online stores in April this year for $14.99. The NAIAS Revell Ford GT snap kit will have a simple 14 piece kit and the retail kit will be a little more detailed with 28 pieces.

Do you have both of the NAIAS Revell Ford model toys? Send us a picture of your complete mini Ford garage after you get the GT supercar built. Are you a model toy fanatic? Which company do you think best replicates real Fords as model toys?
