Ford Thailand Teases Ranger Raptor in New TV Spot

By -

We may not be getting Ford Performance’s pint-sized performer, but we can at least live vicariously through video.

Back in the good old days, truck buyers who wanted more utility than a hatchback with all of the ruggedness of a Ford truck had the Ranger. It was a sad day when it went away, but now, it’s set to return as a mid-sized pickup offering.

For a lot of consumers, “mid-sized” means “right-sized.” While we’re firmly in the camp that’s happy for more choices, there’s one choice we’re not getting. It makes us sad, and it will probably make you sad, too.

Ford Performance has whipped up a Ranger Raptor, and while we’re certain that it’s exactly the kind of thing that would sell incredibly well here, we’re not getting it.  While Ford hasn’t confirmed or denied the possibility of a US-market Ranger Raptor. we think the prospects look pretty grim.

Ford has already announced delivery dates for customers in Thailand and Australia, and began showing this TV spot of a heavily camouflaged Ranger Raptor. In the video, we can see it tearing up all manner of terrain, and the message is clear. The Ranger Raptor has all of the go-anywhere performance of its big brother.
