Ford Recalling 2015 F-150 for Faulty Seat Belt Pretensioner Cables

By -

If you get in a fender bender in your 2015 Ford F-150 SuperCrew, the pretensioner cables in its safety belt assemblies are supposed to remove slack in the belts to keep you and your passengers safely in place.

Unfortunately, the Blue Oval is recalling 2,600 of those exact trucks built in the Dearborn Assembly Plant between January 22 and March 17, 2015 because their pretensioner cables may not have been properly secured. However, Ford isn’t aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue. If necessary, your local dealer will swap out the front driver and/or front passenger seat belt retractor and pretensioner assembly for a new unit – on the house.
