Ford Ranger Monster Mud Racer: Muddy Monday

By -

A high-riding Ford Ranger races through the mud pit with ease.

This week’s Muddy Monday video comes to us from the CarWarz YouTube channel and it features a white Ford Ranger participating in a mud race. If you aren’t familiar with this form of racing, it’s like drag racing, but rather than smooth asphalt and muscle cars with drag slicks, the competitors drive high-riding pickups with huge mud tires. The goal, however, is the same: To get from one end to the other as quickly as possible.

Ranger Mud Racer

There are no details on this Ford mud truck, but it is clearly a purpose built machine. It has massive heavy-duty axles, a monster suspension setup, gigantic tractor tires, as well as what sounds like a very healthy V8 that exhausts through stacks in the hood. This Ranger is built for mudding, but that doesn’t always equate to a great mud racer.

Ranger Hits the Track

The video starts off with the high-riding Ford Ranger sitting just before the starting line as the track crew hooks up the emergency tow strap to the rear. After getting the safety measures out of the way, the truck eases up to the starting line, which we can see is comprised of soft, squishy mud. The average pickup might not be able to get past the starting line, but when the flagman waves the green, this Ranger blasts into the deep mud with some serious urgency.

The run begins with the Ranger slamming down into the two deep ruts near the starting line, followed by trudging through thick, deep mud. The run ends with a combination of deep water and mud, but the monstrous Ford makes short work of the course, reaching the finish line without ever really slowing down after the launch.
