Ford Race Truck Tears it Up at ‘Nitto Auto Enthusiast Day’
Burnouts, drifting, and jumps were all a part of the tire-smokin’ action.
Nitto Tire is a brand for enthusiasts by enthusiasts. To that end, the company has taken to putting on an annual car show, “Auto Enthusiast Day,” to show love to the community. Nitto Tire invited Ford Truck Enthusiasts back out again for this year’s festivities, and they did not disappoint.
The afternoon at Anaheim, California’s Angel Stadium was filled with plenty of non-stop action. There was wrestling champ Bill Goldberg trying to do burnouts in his Dodge Demon, which was…interesting. We got behind the wheel of some trucks to try out Nitto’s latest tire compounds, like the Ridge Grappler, in both LT and Hard Metric. Then, of course, there were the demonstration vehicles. Nitto Tire brought out professional drivers, like Casey Currie, Vaughn Gittin Jr., Matt Powers, and Chelsea DeNofa to showcase their skills on the skidpad.
While the Ultra 4 off-road rigs were mighty impressive, especially when taking the jump, and the drift cars were epic, it was Currie in his Ford Raptor Pro-Lite truck that stole the show. This V8-powered Ford is built for the TORC off-road racing series, where Currie is a dominant presence. Despite being built for the dirt, Currie had no reservations about throwing his race truck around on the pavement, to the delight of the crowd. We will keep this short, sweet and simple. Check out the gallery below and watch the video above to see some Ford truck domination.
