Best-selling Transit van and increased demand for medium duty trucks lead Ford’s commercial renaissance

Ford has been the undisputed commercial vehicle leader for the last 32 years, and they’re not showing any signs of slowing down. Actually, quite the opposite.

The Blue Oval announced at a conference last week that it’s introducing programs specifically dedicated to satisfy the needs of commercial truck, and van buyers. This will help Ford cater to the growing number of small, medium, and large businesses which need dedicated vehicles to perform their duties. Whether it be Super Duty chassis cabs, or F-650 dump trucks, a plan is in place to deliver–and deliver better than anyone else.

An important part of that strategy is the recently announced Ford Commercial Vehicle Center. This network of hubs will include more than 650 Ford dealers, which will be committed to offering business customers the vehicles they need. Furthermore, they will also provide financing and service support.

“Nearly 30 years ago, Ford established its first program to improve the purchase experience for our commercial vehicle customers,” said John Ruppert, Ford general manager, commercial vehicle sales and marketing. “Now we are introducing the next chapter in our commercial vehicle story, not only by re-branding the program, but by further expanding a number of program elements to improve the overall customer experience.”

The goal is to maximize efficiency, which is why these special centers will feature employees cross-trained by the manufacturer, and will be open a minimum of 55-hours per week, therefore joining vehicle owners in the quest for “uptime.”

Another key factor in Ford’s strategy is the Transit van, which became America’s best-selling commercial van in 2015, and in 2016 it became America’s best-selling van–period. The transit outsold all other cargo, and even passenger vans such as the Honda Odyssey and the Toyota Sienna. Needless to say that’s an enormous accomplishment!

The best drivers know that Ford is the best choice for work and pleasure.
