Celebrate Ford and Harley’s 100th Birthday with a Supercharged F-150
Harley edition 2003 F-150 is like a luxury Lightning with plenty of room for passengers.
When you ask a Ford truck fan to name the best performance variant of the F-150, the odds are good that they will name the Raptor, the Lightning or both. Many people forget that during the second generation of the SVT Lightning, which ran from 1999 through 2004, the Motor Company built a second factory-supercharged pickup in cooperation with the Harley-Davidson motorcycle brand.
For the 2003 model year, Ford offered the 100th Anniversary Commemorative Edition Harley-Davidson F-150, featuring a similar supercharged engine to the one in the SVT Lightning. While flipping through the Ford trucks listed on ClassicCars.com, we came across one-such Harley-inspired pickup for sale and it is a like-new example of the luxurious four-door sport truck.
2003 Harley-Davidson Truck
In 2003, both Ford and Harley-Davidson were celebrating their 100th anniversary. To commemorate their corporate centennials, the Motor Company built the 2003 100th Anniversary Commemorative Edition Harley-Davidson Ford F-150. Like many Harleys, this special 2003 F-150 has a black body with lots of chrome along with a plush cabin, featuring black leather seats branded with the motorcycle giant’s logo. There are also unique Harley-Davidson chrome badges on the sides and rear of the truck in addition to all of the Ford badges.
The black-and-chrome exterior with the unique chrome wheels coupled with the leather-clad cabin made the 2003 100th Anniversary Commemorative Edition Harley-Davidson Ford F-150 a premium luxury truck, but more importantly, the 100th anniversary edition pickup was powered by the same engine as the SVT Lightning.
This is, of course, am Eaton-supercharged 5.4-liter TritonV8, but it doesn’t offer quite the same punch as the Lightning. The Harley edition delivered 340 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque while the Lightning offered 380 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque, but the Harley package still made the F-150 one of the quickest stock trucks on sale at that time.
Muscle Truck on the Market
The 2003 100th Anniversary Commemorative Edition Harley-Davidson Ford F-150 shown above is currently available for sale in Concord, North Carolina via ClassicCars.com. We do not know the mileage, but based on this sole picture, the truck is in great shape and, per the listing, it “runs and drives 100% and is ready to enjoy”.
It looks like the perfect truck for someone who wants a clean, Harley-inspired Ford pickup with Lightning power and luxurious space for four adults.
