Ford GT Video Series – The Return to Le Mans: Chapter 4

By -

With the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race around the corner, much of the discussion since last year has focused on the car, the engine, the tire supplier, the race itself, but hardly on the valiant drivers behind the wheel.

While Indycar champions like Scott Dixon and Ryan Briscoe are somewhat household names to motorsport-loving Americans, the likes of Richard Westbrook, Billy Johnson, Marino Franchitti, Stefan Mücke and Joey Hand may not ring a bell to most.

That being said, Chip Ganassi and Edsel Ford have personally chosen these superstar drivers due to their skill behind the wheel, but also for their teamwork qualities, which in a 24 hour long race with many unpredictable scenarios, communication between the drivers, engineering team and pit crew is absolutely crucial.

In less than a week, we will already know just how successful, or not successful the new Ford GT team was on its return to Le Mans. Hopefully it will be reason to celebrate.
