Watch the Ford GT Racing Documentary Series on YouTube
Steam still burns red hot in the minds who remember the fury that came over Ford when they couldn’t acquire Ferrari’s racing division during the 1960’s. Anticipating of Ford’s return to the world stage of racing with a GT successor has been steaming for decades. It was a cold war arms race to crush the Italians. This vigor hasn’t touched the Ford-Ganassi team yet. We see the wheels turning fastidiously to prove again Ford is a racing super power. Ford put together an invigorating five part film documenting their campaign with Chip Ganassi’s crew competing in an Ecoboost GT supercar for the IMSA series.
Three-consecutive international Le Mans championships nearly fifty years ago carved out a famous piece of racing history. Ever since Ford has shed their glut of fat, selling off slacking brands they’re able to focus on future technologies, racing and building a full lineup with a halo supercar too. This is the Ford we need to see now and into the future. This video gives me hope.
The Ford-Ganassi Team has not yet been the leader at Daytona or Sebring. There is more tweaking to do. This is exactly what makes drivers, pit crews and engineers famous they pull a team into contention or even take the title. That is what these men at Ford did with passion, style and poise. Men like Phil Hill, Carroll Shelby and Henry Ford II became household names pushing themselves to the next level. This Ford-Ganassi Team has the spirit to prove again Ford is the strongest auto manufacturer pushing Ecoboost GT to the front of GTLM. I’m looking forward to watching success in the next four parts of this documentary series.
